TPZ – Tula Cartridge Works / Tulammo – Soviet Russia ( rus. Tulskii Oruzheinyi Zavod )
The Tula Cartridge Works (TPZ) was founded on 16 September 1881 as an ammunition factory in the city of Tula, Russia.
In 1967 TPZ introduced the first mitlitary toys called “Military vehicles”. There were twenty known castings released, 19 vehicles and 1 set of military figures, 12 soldiers in 6 poses.
The author of the entire series was the artist-designer Chernukha Viktor Yakovlevich
All vehicles and figures were painted with famous nitro paint 4BO also known as Russian green 4BO. The paint used was the same as for painting cartridge cases on TPZ.
In early 1980-s TPZ provided technical documentation and product samples to a number of Soviet enterprises. It is known for sure that some of these models were produced at Kharkov Type Foundry, Zaporozhtransformator and Donetsk Heavy Press Plant.
In 1992 few models were discontinued and in 1995 TPZ stopped “Military vehicles” production.
GAZ-69 – is won of the rarest from all TZ set. TThe biggest problem with the GAZ-69 model is its very fragile windshield and the towbar, which is often broken even on newer models.
The price was 50 kopeks ( 0,5 ruble ), equal to 3-5 icecreams.
Early issues had price and the TPZ logo on the bottom.
